What happens when hope meets opportunity?
I saw the answer in the smiles of our youths.
As I joined the Githiga Ward youths in sports during the build-up to this football tournament, one thing was clear — this wasn’t just a game. It was a lifeline. A moment of purpose. A reason to dream again.
At a time when many young people are battling unemployment, crime, and drug abuse, I chose to invest in sports as a tool for change. Because our youths don’t need lectures — they need chances.g

At a time when many young people are battling unemployment, crime, and drug abuse, I chose to invest in sports as a tool for change. Because our youths don’t need lectures — they need chances.
I was deeply moved watching teams from the Githiga Ward Premier League step onto the pitch fully equipped with jerseys and balls, competing not just for trophies, but for dignity, discipline, and direction.
Tell me — what if every young person was given a chance instead of being judged?
What if leadership truly showed up where the pain is?
I believe sports can rescue futures, restore hope, and unite communities. And this is only the beginning.
