Official Launch of Youth Week 2025
Theme: Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future
What happens when thousands of young hearts rise in one voice for change?
Today, the spirit of Laikipia soared high as we officially launched Youth Week 2025—a powerful celebration of energy, creativity, and unshakable hope. With this year’s theme, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” we shine a spotlight on the pivotal role that youth play in building resilient, innovative, and forward-thinking communities.
But Youth Week is more than a calendar event—it’s a call to action. It’s a moment for leaders, communities, and institutions to stand with young people and invest in their skills, mental wellness, entrepreneurship, civic voice, and future.
Today’s colorful procession, a true highlight, was led by Chief Officer Kenneth I. Kibara (Department of Gender, Youth Affairs, Sports, Culture and Social Services). He was joined by Director Hezron Kinyua, C.E.O Charles of the Laikipia Enterprise Fund, as well as church leaders, facilitators, youth leaders, and an overwhelming turnout of youths from Laikipia East. The streets came alive with music, excitement, and unity—thanks to the amazing Kalalu PCEA Band.
If our youth are ready to lead, are we ready to listen, support, and follow?
From mentorship forums to talent showcases, this week is designed to inform, inspire, and ignite a movement of purposeful youth-led change.
Through Laikipia Enterprise Fund C.E.O, we've issued Laikipia County Enterprise Fund Kshs. 650,000 to three youth groups
1. Upendo Milimani from Welfare Nanyuki Ward Kshs.300,000
2. Loitiki Naretoe from Mukogodo East Kshs. 200,000
3. Rise and Shine from Segera ward Kshs. 150,000
Let this be the spark. Let Youth Week 2025 light the path to inclusion, opportunity, and sustainable growth—fueled by the dreams and determination of our youth.
Happy Youth Week 2025! Let’s make it unforgettable.

Laukipia Youth Career Talk with Chief Officer Kenneth Kibara Venue: Youth Empowerment Centre – Laikipia West
From IT, Journalism, Nursing, to Cybersecurity — Laikipia youth boldly shared their dreams. But among all the ambitions, only one mentioned farming — the backbone of our nation.
Chief Officer Kibara challenged the youth: “Don’t just choose careers to get employed — choose to solve problems, feed nations, and build communities.”
Be a solution. Be the change.
The next generation of African millionaires won’t be in suits — they’ll be in boots. Agriculture is the new gold. With smart farming, innovation, and sustainability, Gen Z holds the power to grow Africa’s future.
The future is green — and it’s yours to cultivate!
He also emphasized environmental conservation, inspired by the legacy of the late Wangari Maathai, who proved that planting trees and empowering communities can transform the world
Sports, dance, and technology — the winning trio! Sports isn’t just a game, and dance isn’t just entertainment. They are powerful tools for self-expression, income generation, and community growth. These talents build confidence, open global doors, and create meaningful opportunities for youth.
Now add tech to the mix: Drone training is taking talent to the skies — capturing, marketing, and monetizing youth potential like never before.
Where passion meets purpose, greatness follows.
